Counselling & psychotherapy

Talking to a stranger about your innermost thoughts and feelings can be scary. I want you to know that I'll do everything I can to make you feel safe and comfortable. Therapy can be really helpful in putting things into perspective and regaining control of your life. I'm a good listener who will offer you a non-judgmental space to talk about your past, present, and future.

“There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”  Nelson Mandela

Leanne Theron

Counsellor, Psychotherapist

About me

Hello, I'm Leanne.  I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I am very passionate about my work as a psychotherapist and supporting people through various challenges in life. I believe that everyone has the potential to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life, and it is my privilege to be able to guide my clients towards this goal.

During our time together, I will tailor my therapy specifically for you so that you can have the best possible outcome. I use cognitive behavioural techniques to challenge negative thought patterns and behaviours. I also practice mindfulness, which is an incredibly effective tool in helping people become more present and take some time out from their anxious minds.

I am always honest with people and I pride myself on being open, understanding, and supportive. I believe that it's important to be transparent in all aspects of life, and that includes being there for people when they need someone to rely on.

Therapy sessions

Free phone consultation

I offer a 20-minute phone consultation for anyone interested in meeting with me before booking a session.

This gives you a chance to ask any questions you have and get a feel for how I work. In turn, I will be interested in knowing what brings you to therapy.

Subsequent sessions from £65

My aim is to help you achieve your goal, whether you already have one in mind or not. With more self-awareness and reflection, we can find a goal together that works for you. I offer a non-judgemental space for you to reflect on whatever it is you need to, and we can work together at your pace. You are in control of what you bring to each session.

How I can help you

The most common reasons for psychotherapy are to address mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. Other reasons include addressing relationship issues, substance abuse, and coping with major life transitions. Psychotherapy can help you learn how to manage your emotions, thoughts, and behaviour in healthy ways. It can also be invaluable in providing support and guidance during difficult times of your life.

Therapy for depression

Defeat Depression

Counselling can be an effective treatment for depression, providing support, guidance and practical tools to manage symptoms and improve wellbeing.

Depression can be a difficult condition to manage on your own, and counselling can provide an invaluable support system.

If you are struggling with depression, I will provide a safe and supportive space to explore your feelings and start making positive changes.

Anxiety counselling

Banish Anxiety

Anxiety can be a debilitating condition that prevents us from living our lives to the fullest.

Counselling can help you to understand your anxiety and give you the power to take control.

I will help you to develop healthy, effective coping mechanisms and to understand and manage your triggers. Counselling can be a very effective way to help you conquer your anxiety and live a healthier, happier life.

OCD Therapy

Overcome OCD

Obsessive compulsive disorder is a mental health condition that affects people of all ages. Symptoms of OCD can include repetitive thoughts or behaviours, such as hand-washing, counting or checking things.

Counselling can be an effective treatment for OCD. It can help you to understand your condition and develop strategies for dealing with your symptoms. I will also help you to manage your anxiety and stress levels, which can trigger OCD behaviour.
